$25,000, $23,000 AND $21,000 TROTS TO FINAL WEDNESDAY CARD

 

DOVER, Del. --- A strong field of nine vie in the $25,000 Winners-Over trot, on the final Wednesday of the current Dover Downs meet on April 9. a $22,000 Mares  trot and a $21,000 trot top the undercard. First post is now at 5:30 p.m.

 

M&M Harness Racing’s Saint Johns Boy scored a 1:55 win with Tim Tetrick last week and drew post 1 while Passito recorded a 1:56 triumph for Joe Rybak and Bill Seplowe. Jonathan Roberts will drive the gelding from post 9 in the second tier. Broke As Usual A turned in his best effort since returning to the races this year after more than half-a-year without racing. Roger Plante will drive for Paul McDougall and WJ McDougall Racing. Following two races at the Meadowlands,  Brite Speed N is back with Brandon Givens driving for Preston Walls and Nanticoke Racing.

 

Colleen and Paul Chambers’ Sweet Daddy Siki has been razor sharp if late and will be driven by Jim Morand. Moneyball, owned by Tom Ceraso and John Giumarra, led for much of the mile last time with Mike Cole. The other contenders are J&E Stable’s Go Nano Go with Eddie Davis Jr., Albert Hanna’s Honolulu Hunk and Corey Callahan and Joe Zicchino, Wayne Chrebet, Mike Buhse and Kevin McDermott’s Stunt Man Hall with Tony Morgan from post 8.

 

Howard Kaufman’s Jessie Hall is fresh from a 1:56.3 triumph with Tony Morgan driving and along with Delbert Cain’s Go Sassy Go has been second in three of her last four starts around a 1:56.4 win, lead eight distaffs racing for a $22,000 purse. Ed Gold’s Armbro Emma drew the rail with Ben Stafford Jr. Alongside is Maple Sugar and driver Vic Kirby for owners George Shaw and Enviro Stables. Roger Plante pilots Lorna Cohen and Kevin Switzer’s Financial Glider, while Tim Tetrick will steer Joe Muscara’s Lady Segil N. The rest of the field includes RR’s Caviar, with Kim Vincent driving for Charles Veneziale and Ken Westerside and new to the field is Desperatehousewife, driven by Eddie Davis Jr.  for West Coast owners MacDonell, Corini, Jaconetty and Campbell.

 

In a $21,000 trot, another nine horse lineup is led by Mike Casalino’s Laser Lavec and Tim Tetrick and Fivedollarsforsox, owned by Ask W Stables, Tina and driver George Dennis, and Bart Cavanagh’s Customize with Sam Belote at the controls. Chief opposition is expected from Al Moor and J&E Stable’s Smokey Bear with Eddie Davis Jr., Nick Callahan’s Smokin Not Chokin and driver Corey Callahan, and Chocolate Tiara with Tony Morgan driving for North State St. Stable and Harness The Power. The rest of the field is made up by PT Stable’s Bud Ross and Roger Plante, Edgar Martha’s Rambo Kandu piloted by Frank Milby and JoAnn King’s Nikki’s Game fresh from a win driven by Jim King.

   

The Dover Downs 2007-08 season comes to a close on Thursday, April 10 with daily racing beginning at 5:30 p.m. There is no charge for parking or admission. Reservations are suggested for the Winner's Circle Restaurant 302-674-4600.
